Primary: Tuesday Week 10, Term 1

Happy Easter!

Reader: Over the weekend we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, after he died on Good Friday. It is a joyful time as Jesus rose from the tomb and overcame death. We rejoice with the risen Jesus.

We begin with the Sign of the Cross.

Penitential Rite:

Reader: Jesus, you are our risen Lord.

Lord have mercy.

Reader: Jesus, you give us life.

Christ have mercy.

Reader: Jesus, you are with us.

Lord have mercy.

Opening Prayer

Reader: Father, we are happy that Jesus is risen from the dead. As we celebrate, help us to live a new life with him. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

Gospel Reading

The Resurrection - Matthew 28: 16-20 – Jesus appears to His Disciples

Reader: The eleven disciples went to the hill in Galilee where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him, even though some of them doubted. Jesus drew near and said to them,

Reader: “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach then to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.”

Prayers

The response is – Lord, Hear our Prayer

Reader      Jesus died and was raised to new life. Help us to keep hope in our hearts and tell the good news of God’s love to others. Lord Hear Us.

Reader      Jesus brings new life to all of us. Help us to lead good lives. Lord Hear Us.

Reader      We pray for all of our family and friends who have died and are living a new life with Jesus. Lord Hear Us.

Reader      Alleluia, Jesus is risen! May all people be happy because Jesus is alive. Lord Hear Us.

Reader      May we do what is asked of us gladly and may we show love and kindness to each other. Lord Hear Us.

Reader      May we remember our Lenten activities and continue to help others throughout the year. Lord Hear Us.

Closing Prayer

Reader: Thank You God, for your gift of life.

Let us rejoice and be glad.

We pray for peace in our world.

We pray for love in our hearts.

We pray for truth in our words.

We pray for justice in our actions.

Alleluia, Jesus is risen!

Let us rejoice and be glad.
