Forty Days of Lent

God, on Ash Wednesday we received a cross of ashes on our foreheads. They were washed away.

I hope my Lenten promises to you won't wash away so quickly:

  • Help me to fast a little from the foods and things I really like

  • Help me to share what I have with the poor and needy

  • Help me to pray each day

I've got forty days, God. Help me to spend them well. Amen
